Santiago Travel Pass Options in Santiago

I am going to be in Santiago for 3 days (20-21st May and 19th June 2009), i was wondering with the transport card being 1100 pesos, does this card automatically include metro trips or you have to add these onto the card

Unless you are planning on taking buses you do not need a BIP card. You can buy tickets for the metro in the stations. If you do want to take buses, the card costs 1000 pesos and you load whatever you want onto it. A bus ride which includes transfers is 380 pesos at the moment and you have a two hour window to do transfers. If you include the metro in your transfers, there is a small surcharge.

The Metro costs 450 pesos in rush hours and 390 pesos otherwise. You cannot transfer from the metro to the bus without paying twice.
