Hi, how do I get to the Railway Station (central in Birm.) from Birmingham airport? And how long does it take to get there from the airport? Thank you...

Need to get to Birmingham New Street Rail Station.

Birmingham International Airport has its own train station that is quick to get to from arrivals and will be well signposted. From there you can easily get a train to Birmingham New Street, no need to book, the journey will take around 20-30 minutes.

You can get the free shuttle to Birmingham International station, and a train to Birmingham New Street (the main Birmingham station)from there. The train journey takes between 10 and 20 minutes.

www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you train times & fares to/from Birmingham airport & Birmingham New Street.

Thank u for your responses, never been to Birmingham so needed to figure it out. Need to get to Manchester from Birmingham and it seems the trains are more convenient and faster :)

You can't get it on the train itself but you can get it at the station with no problem at all. Use the machines or the ticket office.

Be aware that buying a ticket on the day to get from Birmingham to Manchester could be quite expensive - advance purchase is much cheaper. However you might be able to save a little by purchasing a ticket all the way from the Airport to Manchester (you will probably have to change trains at Birmingham New Street but you will do the whole trip using just one ticket).

Yes, I know that's why I've already booked a ticket online. Just need to collect it at New Street station, hope the fast ticket place is easy to be found there :-)

It's a machine, and they (probably more than one as New Street is a big station) will be by the ticket offices, and/or in the main concourse. You shouldn't have any problem finding them.
