How is the weather in sorrento in jan?. are the restaurants and shops open in Jan ?. We want to go back to Rome from sorrento after 4 days. We rather not take the train,How expensive is a limo from Sorrento to Rome?. If we take the direct bus were does it stop in Rome ?.

1. There is a fixed fare (which you must request) of 100 euro from Naples to Sorrento by taxi. See http://www.portal.gesac.it/portal/page/portal/internet/inAEROPORTO/Trasporti/Taxi/TARIFFE_TAXI-agg.pdf
It is not clear to me if this is from the city center or the airport, but the airport is relatively close to the city center. Since the airport is on the other side of the city center from Sorrento, taking a taxi on the meter is likely to be more. So, taxi to Sorrento - quite expensive.
2. Taking a limo is a matter of personal preference in that some people prefer taking limos in Italy because (1) someone is waiting for them (but there will always be taxis at the airport), (2) the price is known well in advance, and (3) you have already gotten information on special circumstance like number of passengers or excess luggage. I don't personally know of any limo services in Naples, but www.airportconnection.it is a reputable one in Rome, and it looks like their website will let you ask for a quote from Naples Airport to anywhere in the area.
3. www.weather.com - it should be cool with short days. When sunny, it can be quite pleasant, in a cool way.
4. Restaurants and shops - I haven't been in January, but many if not most restaurants will be open in January because Italians have to eat, too.
5. You would have to take two trains to get from Sorrento to Rome: (1) the Circumvesuviana from Sorrento to Naples, and (2) the national railroad (FS or Trenitalia) from Naples to Rome. While this can be a bother, especially with people of limited mobility or excess luggage, it will be far cheaper than a limo - if it costs 100 euro to go from the airport to Sorrento, it must cost several hundreds of euro to go up to Rome - you will probably have to contact a limo service for a quote.
In January, I know of only one daily bus from Sorrento to Rome, which leaves at 06:45 and arrives at 09:45 at Stazione Tiburtina in Rome (this is a train station east of the city center, and somewhat east of Termini, the main station). In addition, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there is a second bus that leaves at 17:45 and arrives at 21:00 at the same place. The bus company's website is http://www.marozzivt.it/ but it is only in Italian. Your hotel in Sorrento will certainly know about it.

Both taxi and limo are very expensive options, and entirely unnecessary unless you wish to pay for luxury travel.
Far better is the bus service run by Curreri, which goes directly to Sorrento from outside Arrivals. You can't miss the bus stop: look slightly to your left as you exit. You could book online on the site below if you wish, but it won't be necessary in January. The bus arrives outside the Circumvesuviana station in Sorrento. You just pay the driver.
http://www.curreriviaggi.it/
is in Italian, but if you select 'Napoli Aeroporto' under Partenza and 'Sorrento' under Arrivo you will get the timetable.
I recommend this service as by far the easiest and most convenient way to get from the airport.
Equally, I would recommend taking the train to Rome rather than a long bus journey. It is exceptionally easy, perfectly safe, reasonably-priced and comfortable. Take the Circumvesuviana train to Napoli Centrale (around an hour), then up one level and get the train to Rome. Ticket machines in Napoli Centrale are easy to use and have English language options. You do not need to book tickets in advance. Tickets to Naples are easily obtained at the Circumvesuviana station in sorrento, where they are well-used to ealing with visitors who do not speak Italian.

As per usual, I echo Leics' comments. As for the weather, I was there in mid- February last year and while it wasn't baking hot, the days were sunny and warm-ish - perfect for sight-seeing. Shops are open. Some restaurants as well, although not all but enough to give you a choice. See my Sorrento pages.
