Treviso HOTEL next to Treviso Train Station
Posted: Thu December 18, 2008 08:34 AM UTC
Hi,

I'm looking for a hotel close to the Treviso Train Station just for an overnight stay, nothing fancy but clean. This will be on arrival to Treviso and will be heading to Venice the next morning so basically looking for something convenient so we don't have to travel at night. Any suggestions?
Our plans were to travel from Treviso Airport to the Treviso Train Station by taxi hoping to find a hotel close by and then catch a train to Venice the next morning.
Many thanks in advance,
Stephanie

Hy,
sorry, but you can't go in Venice direcly without sleeping in Treviso?
Take a look here: http://www.atvo.it/images_doc/linee/Aeroporto_di_Treviso-Mestre-Venezia_(dal_26.10_al_23.12.2008).pdf
You'll arrive in Piazzale Roma in 80 minutes max and find an hotel/hostel( I don't know your budget) near it.
Ciao, Marco

Thanks but no thanks as I'm not staying in Mestre I already have accommodation in Venice in piazza san marco but its only from the 2nd day that I arrive and I don't plan to take vaporetti at midnight with luggages when I arrive, besides I'm sure Its nice to see Treviso in the morning on my way to Venice, that is my reason for not wanting to go to Venice straight away but on this forum no one seems to understand it lol
please guys some help with Treviso hotels, somewhere inbetween airport and train station.

Many many thanks.

Close to the station there are two hotels. One is the Carlton and the other one the Continental. these are th websites: www.hotelcarlton.it
www.hcontinental.it

They are both 4stars, but they are the only ones really close to the station, so you will not need taxis.

Treviso is actually an interesting place to visit so if you have time, head into the old part of town.

Hi Stephanie - I don't know if this will be of help to you or not-
I've just returned from Treviso and Venice. I stayed overnight at a place called Dolce Vita www.dolcevitatreviso.com. which I booked through www.hostelbookers.com.

This B&B isn't near the station, but there is a regular bus - No 51 that stops near the B&B and the train station.

I paid 40 euros for a double room for single use for 1 night.

I arrived at Treviso airport and caught the number 6 bus to the train station - 1 euro ticket purchased in the airport (2 euros if bought from the bus driver) valid for 70 minutes.
As it was late by the time I got to the train station, I got a taxi, which I think was 12 euros.(instead of waiting for the number 51 bus. The owners of the B&B will organise a transfer from the airport for around 10 euros - max of 4 people.

The next morning, after breakfast, I caught a no 51 bus (ticket can be purchased at nearby tabac) to the train station, left my case in the left luggage - 3 euros for 5 hours, then spent about 4 hours enjoying wandering around Treviso, before catching the 15.08 train to Venice, which I think was 2.40 euros, and took about 30 minutes.

Please feel free to contact me for more info.
Best Wishes
Sue
