Hi all

appreciate your help.

i am driving to Sungai Petani (SP), Kedah, then from there, i am going to Hadyai. We are 6 person in the group.

My question, what is the best way to Hadyai from SP ?

1. How far is SP to Hadyai ?
2. some local agent quoted me RM35 for transport (1 way).
3. We are staying in JB Hotel. - anyone has info on this hotel ? good ? any thing to be alerted off? http://www.jbhotelhatyai.com/
4. if we are driving to Hadyai by our own car, is it safe ? easy to reach Hadyai? What is the papers needed to cross over to hadyai ?

Many people in Penangites used to go to Haadyai for weekend trips.
1) Join a transport/hotel package to Haadyai.

2) Drive there to Haadyai bringing vehicle registration document.

3) Drive and park overnight at private car charged by number of nights car parks near Kayu Hitam border and take shared taxi/minivan transport to Haadyai.

4) Daily afternoon international train leaves Butterworth 3pm or so and reaches Haadyai around 7pm and pick up passengers from Sungei Petani train station along the way. No need reservation as plenty of seats. You buy a ticket to Padang Besar and at the Thai side, buy another ticket to Haadyai using the same train. Easy as the train waits for everyone to clear immigration and board again before continuing. Only thing is that the train is slow. Train station right in Haadyai town.

So plenty of options.
