Well, don't walk to Fremont St if you're staying on the Strip only 'cause its pretty far away. Sorry, don't know much about the cost though.

It's difficult to say how much the cab would cost if we don't know where you are starting from.

Have you considered a bus? They run along the length of the Strip & it's only $2 each way.

i was told that people schould not try to walk to the airport from hotels near the luxor even though it is not that far because there are no sidewalks most of the way and you would have walk in the sand and rocks or on the side of the roads. might be the same way from north end of strip to freemont street.
use to be cost for taxi from flamingo hotel to airport and from flamingo to freemont street was about the same within 75 cents to a dollar.
there use to be free transportation from barbary coast to orleans and another coast property two or three times a hour and then from there to downtown like once every couple of hours.
look at some of the good web sites i have listed on my vegas page .
one of them has details on hotels shuttles and buses
think it is the lasvegasadvisor one .

With some basic math, I may be able to help. A taxi from the airport to the Sahara (far end of the strip) was about $14 with tip. A taxi from the Sahara to Freemont was about $8. Knowing that a single cab ride is cheaper than 2, $20 with tip should do you fine. By the way, don't stay at the Sahara....What a dive.
