Bahrain Food..food....and beaches

Hello fellow VTs,

Appreciate if anyone of the members can advise places where i can go for early breakfast in bahrain. it doesnt matter whether it middle east, indian, continental or anything. I don't mean at the hotel. do the shops operate like in saudi's opening time? open after 4pm, close during prayer time etc.

what about local food? what is it? is it the same khabsah? where can i find a good one which of course with lamb.

about the beaches, where can i go and enjoy food by the beaches. are there any? some of the information in this bahrain VT are few years back. perhaps members can give some updates whether the information is still valid.

How easy to go to tourist information centre from the airport? From the internet i found that it is somewhere in Adliya - how to get there?. Do they have a proper office at the airport itself?

Thank you. Have a good day to you all.

Where are you staying, there is a supermarket called Alosra with a great cafe open from 7am with good prices and food. Due to the extensive building taking place there are no good beaches at present where you can sit and eat. Shops generally open at 10am to 1pm, then close til 4pm, then ropen up to midnight. You will find a good map of Bahrain at the airport. All areas are quite easy to get to, Adliya is not far from the airport and has lots of restaurants and shops to enjoy. There are also many shopping centres. Enjoy your stay

Can't see if anyone answered you again, but Al Osra is in an area called Saar which is only about 20 minutes from Adliya, traffic permitting!

Kudo's in Adliya does a great breakfast for around BD1,500!
