from Segovia to the castle of Manzanares el Real Posted: Mon December 1, 2008 04:53 PM UTC
THE CASTLE OF MANZANARES EL REAL is between Segovia and Madrid. How can I go by any public transportation (bus, train) from Segovia to this castle (NOT FROM MADRID)? Does anyone know anything that could help me?

the castle is in the town of the same name. There are two castles one as said and the other is call castle of de los Mendoza. Both are beautiful. I often went when younger with the family, as a summer trip. the Castle nuevo de Manzanares El Real is near the town cementary. Of course, Segovia has the Alcazar castle too and the aqueduct! You are making dream, I will be in Madrid next weekend but to see soccer(football) and basketball games of Real Madrid,my team.
Its a very small town so transportation is difficult, you need to take a bus to VILLALBA DE GUADARRAMA the next town over, there is a train station there that goes to Segovia, and vice versa. rocky road so takes about an hour, and it cost 1.20 euros by bus. From Villalba to Segovia it was € 3.90 on the train; the train station in Segovia is about 25 min walk to center of the city. The whole can be done in one full day.

I'm afraid to be too tiresome, so the last question. I khow it is a bus 720 from Collado Villaba to Manzanares. How can I get to Collado Villaba from Segovia, is it difficult ? And how do you think - what does it cost to go from Segovia to Collado Villaba or directly to Manzanares ?

there is a train service from collado villalba to segovia, cost is about 2 euros. You can concentrate on Segovia, and visit La Granja instead, or pick Manzanares El Real and SEgovia, because i am afraid with public transports time and being not regular, you will lose a lot of time in your travels. Hope it helps.
