cheapest if you stick to regional trains

DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
From: Coburg
To: Prague
and select as means of transport "without ICE/IC/EC".

Keep the default (first entry of drop-down list) for Coburg.

Use 2 tickets for this trip.
1. Bavaria-Bohemia Ticket Single (EUR 22,00)
This ticket covers the trip till Plzen/Pilsen.
You can buy this ticket on spot from the ticket machines in Coburg.
2. a normal ticket for the Plzen/Pilsen to Prague part (~ EUR 7,50)
Buy this ticket at the station in Plzen/Pilsen if you have to change there. Otherwise from the Czech conductor on the train (will add a small service fee).
