Has anybody used the long term parking at OR Tambo Airport at the Super South Gate (Park and Ride)which is apparently adjacent to the airport? Or does anybody know if there is another long term parking option in Johannesburg/Pretoria. We are looking at leaving our car for 3 weeks.

The long term parking in the airport "parking building is very expensive...R85 per day.When ever I have gone away for 2 weeks, I have parked my car in one of the Ahade net areas. Here the parking is R25 per day, and is right at the international departures. You take your parking card with, and the security is 100%..This will cost you R500,but by the time you have worked out petrol etc, I found it reasonable. There is another parking lat nearer to Ceasers Casino, but I have not made use of it. I have always been happy with the shade/hail net section.

Like Mike, I always use the shade parking (ca twice a month), NOT the underroof parking(way too expensive), as it is close and relatively cheap. However I dissagree that it is 100% safe. My vehicle has been broken into twice already while parked there. Security and cameras made no difference. The other problem with the shade nets parking is the lack of adequate lights so keep that in mind when departing or arriving at night. Allow plenty of time to find parking, sometimes it is empty but most of the time you struggle to find a spot, not fun when you have only a few minutes before check in closes.

Did a quick Google and found "Mr Parking". But, looking at their testimonial page: http://www.mrparking.co.za/Testimonial.html, I get a feeling that all those testimonals were written by the same person. Their rates are not attractive either.
