Hi

I have a stopover in Doha for about 7 hours. So I just want to find out if there are any people out there have been on a city tour of Doha during their stopover.
I have also been told that the city is very close to the airport, if there are any recommendations of that to see during my stopover..... spending 7 hours at the airport is not an option :)

A museum of Islamic art has just been opened - I would love to go and see that. Other than that a walk along the corniche and a meander through the streets and the souk would be interesting. Not much else to see in Doha that I can think of.

Thanks for that, sounds interesting, but I only get there 17.30 so they might be closed then, but might do that on the way back to the UK as I have 5 hours then, and the airport I have read is only about 15 minutes out of the city so enough time really.

Actually Doha, like other ME cities, tends to shut down for a couple of hours in the afternoon and then open up later and stay open late into the night, so an evening arrival will not hurt (except that the museum is only open until 530pm except Fri see http://www.mia.org.qa/english/index.html).
