We are staying in Sorrento and need to travel to Naples airport on the morning of Sunday 16th August. What are our options? Where can we get timetables for travel companies?

There's a shuttlebus to Capodichino Airport from Sorrento, run by Curreri Autolinee s.r.l., takes 90 minutes, cost €7 from bus driver, timetable on http://www.sorrentoradio.com/prova/capodichino.htm (or once in Sorrento, tel. Curreri Call Center: 081 801 54 20)

The easiest way to travel is to take the Curreri bus, which goes directly from Sorrento (outside the Circumvesuviana station) to Naples airport.

http://www.curreriviaggi.it/ (apologies in advance for the music!) will give you timetable and online booking, if you want to use it (tickets can be bought on the bus). Tickets cost 10 euro one-way.

You could take a taxi, but it will cost 70+ euro.

You could also take the Circumvesuviana train to Napoli Centrale (about an hour), then take the bus or a taxi to Nples airport.

But the Curreri bus is by far the easiest option. It stops right outside Arrivals/Departures.

As you are travelling in high season it may be worthwhile booking your ticket online in advance (if only for peace of mind). Coaches have limited seating, and the Curreri bus is an obvious and popular choice.

Far too early to be booking now, of course!

We are actually travelling to the centre of Naples as opposed to the airport as we actually want to reach Rome. Do the coaches, trains and buses run as normal on a Sunday in high season or is there a reduced service?

Right.....so the Curreri bus is not an option.

But the Circumvesuviana train is, and even easier.

Dead easy and inexpensive. Catch it at Sorrento and get off at Napoli Centrale (that's where you'll get the train to Rome anyway). No need to book tickets, and there will be plenty of trains.
