Breckenridge Driving from Breckenridge to Las Vegas
Posted: Wed November 26, 2008 07:58 PM UTC
I'll be in Breckenridge last week of February 09 and then on to Las vegas. Any thoughts on driving that- winter conditions, length of trip etc.
Thanks

Hwy 70 west to Hwy 15 south would be the most direct and best road conditions. Getting "out of town" in a blizzard might be difficult but once you get through the snow the roads should be fine. It'a about 700 miles so depending on how long much VT time you will spend gathering tips of the trip it is doable in 1 day, but it's scenic so...I'd take my time.

It depends on how you want to do the trip - whether take your time and visit places on route or just get there as quick as pos.

The direct route is about 700 miles and pretty much all on the Interstate (I70 and I15) which should be OK for driving unless the weather forecast is really bad. Probably best to allow for an overnight stop somewhere though.

If you've got a bit of time (and haven't been yet) you could take the I25 and I40 and visit the Grand Canyon.

Have a good trip.
