Murree Hotels in Murree

Hi,

Im visiting Murree in December and was looking around for good deals on Hotels. I am looking for a not-too-expensive accomodation but something that is like a cabin type preferably in the hills! . Not the one in building hotels. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Try
Hotel East view
Jheeka Glai road,

Or some small cabin type accomodation after talking to some locals, but Murree is a touristy and noisy place nowadays, because of the closure of Swat valley.
Better places're Thandiani, Ayubia etc.

Bon voyage,

Imran Schah

Murree is best visited on weekdays. Avoid weekends and holidays. Another central spot to stay is the MALL hotel. I would have to agree with Imran...better go to Nathia Gali (Greens hotel) and stay there. Murree can a side visit.

Nathia Gali still has some charm that Murree has lost. Plus better option for hiking, horse riding, etc.

Hi thanks for the suggestions. Actually my fiance is from Karachi. Its my first time in Pakistan and when I saw this thread, I found it really helpful.

So you guys are saying its best to go to nathia gali nowadays and have a side trip to Murree instead of the other way around? My fiancee was also saying that its best to get a hotel once we are there without pre booking. Is this advisable? Coz this makes me very nervous. Might end up not a having a room in the snow. lol

Basically, we are leaving out of karachi, having a stop in lahore and islamabad before proceeding to Murree and Nathia Gali, ayubia etc. all this we have to do in 7 days. Is this pretty ambitious?

I'll definitely be in the in weekdays.... I bet it would be crowded on weekends due to the holidays coming up. One question though? How far is Nathia Gali from Murree? i.e How many minutes? and what transporation should we be taking?

Nathiagali is approx 27 km, 45 min drive from Murree. Unfortunately no sking area. If it has snowed in the hills than there is a mad rush. Else if you go on a weekday you should be able to get a hotel easily...and do negotiate the rates.

7 days for Lahore/Isb/hills is ambitious but achievable.

Salut mon ami,

Ski resorts in Pakistan, one we lost bevause of natural disaster of 2005 earthquake, Shogran.

2nd, has been occupide by Taliban of Swat valley, Malam Jabba.

I don't know these days where the training camps of the ski are held, by adventure foundation Pakistan, somewhere close to Nathiagali, the slopes have potential.

I've done the trek to Miranjani, came from Thandiani and dagri bangla 2 years back, and slopes are great.

All the best,

Imran Schah
