Dubrovnik Dubrovnik to Plitvice by bus
Posted: Wed November 19, 2008 02:50 PM UTC
Hi,

Could anyone give me some suggestion regarding making it to Plitvice in one day?

I checked the web and it says I have to catch the 6:30 AK bus to Split, then from Split catch the 12:00 AK bus to Plitvice, to arrive in Plitvice at 17:48.
This means I have to catch the bus from Pile Gate to the Dubrovnik bus station at a godly hour of 6:00am.

I don't ming arriving in Plitvice before 9pm, I think the hotel (Mukinja) in Plitvice is still open then.

Are there any other bus companies that you could reveal to me ?

Unfortunately, with each new extension of Croatian motorway system there are less and less buses that take the old road via Plitvice. From what I see, your combination of buses is the best one. For timetables of Croatian intercity buses the best website is
www.autobusni-kolodvor.com/en/timetable.aspx
First, look for the options on Dubrovnik to Split line and then on Split to Plitvicka jezera line.

Check with the apartment again about their exact location. From what I know, there is no hotel under that name, it is probably a private pension. No problem with that, but that is probably not at a reasonably close walking distance from any of the entrances (bus stops) to the park.

Check with the owner, tell him you will arrive by bus and need exact directions. (For instance - which bus stop?). If possible, arrange them to pick you up at the bus stop, especially if you will arrive at night.
