Abu Dhabi Do we need transit visa in Abu Dhabi if we don't leave the airport?

I and my wife will fly with Atihad from Frankfurt to Jakarta via Abu Dhabi international airport. We have 2 -5 hours between the flights, do we need a transit visa if we don't intend to leave the airport?

Not if you stay in the transit area. As soon as you pass any passport inspection a visa would be due.

Plus I think Etihad Airways have their own transit lounge and would provide some complementary services for their transit passengers!!

No you do not.
If you hold a European passport, you can get one at the airport in case of change of plans, but otherwise you do not need a visa.
