Can anybody tell me if there is a coach shuttle service between Pretoria and the International Airport?

Not sure whether you're talking about arrival or departure...
If you're arriving, I would not use public transport in any form - that includes trains, buses, taxis.

That leaves you the option of renting a car - Pretoria is easy to get to from Joburg International.
You also have the option of contacting your accommodation and asking them to arrange a shuttle. For example, the Backpackers Lodge Pretoria offers a shuttle at R100pp during office hours or R200 after hours.
Another option is to arrange with friends, colleagues, associates or even VT'ers to meet you at the airport (a small fee may or may not be negotiated).

Johan, you will have to explain why the difference between arrival and departure.

There are quite a few services. I previously made use of Meet Africa Airport Transfers (www.meetafricatransfers.co.za).
You can book online.
As Johan said, the safest option to use would be a shuttle service, especially if traveling from ORTIA to PTA.

Gerald, because I thought he/she probably would not want to rent a car to the airport if he/she was leaving the country - and that was one of the options I mentioned ;)

Hi JohanIsWeg and PierreZA. Thank you very much for your answers. I will be arriving at Pretoria Station at around 5 in the morning and have to be at the airport before 10. Time is not the problem, as you can see.
On the website "To & From the Airport" (www.toandfromtheairport.com) a scheduled bus service called "Pretoria Airport Shuttle" is mentioned; they even give the times the bus is leaving and a telepone number as well. When I phoned to Tshwane Tourism Information Centre, they gave me the same name and phone number. However, the number doesn't work! It seems to always be busy. Do you know if this service still exists?

I have used Exclusive Travellers, a company that does airport transfers. They meet you at your arrivals gate at any time, I have also used them to go to Sun City. The service was excellent and much better than I've experienced with rental companies.
