How long is long enough to spend in Machu Picchu to see the ruins etc? I am getting the train from Cusco, is 2 days ok?

I agree too! Really, you just need one full day. The important thing is to spend the night before in Aguas Calientes so that you can go into Machu Picchu when it opens, before the crowds build up.

brilliant, thanks for the advice guys, yeah i was planning on getting the train the day before, having some of the day there then up early the next morning before crowds get there for some more!
