Tampa Thanksgiving Dinner and other places to eat in/around Tampa
Posted: Wed November 5, 2008 07:35 PM UTC
My bf and I are arriving in Tampa Thanksgiving Day. Away from our families, just us two. It's our first time to Tampa - where do you recommend having Thanksgiving dinner? Nothing super pricy but nothing too low key either. We have a car so can travel around. Any other suggestions for great places to eat while we are in the area welcome as well. Thank you!

Perhaps this is too low-brow for you but Cracker Barrel usually has a Thankgiving dinner special about $10 or $12/person. This is a Cracker Barrel north of the University of South Florida at Bruce B. Downs Blvd. and Bearss Ave.

Thanks, Donna. I read about a restaurant called La Columbia in Ybor City. Have you been there? What do you think about going there for Thanksgiving dinner? Or should I wait another day to go?

By all means, go to the Columbia! - Ybor is the quaint old Cuban district & just named one of the top 10 streets in America. good walking area, lots to see.
Otherwise 20 mins away is nice stuff in Clearwater Beach area.

Yes, go to The Columbia Restaurant, but I think you should go to sample their cuisine, which is Spanish, rather than for Thanksgiving. You should probably call to make sure they are open and see if you need reservations. The Columbia will be more expensive, not sure of the going prices but plan for at least $20 to $30/person.

Good idea...go to eat Spanish food there than to eat turkey. I was thinking of going to the Ybor City location of La Colombia. I know there's a location at St. Pete's Pier. Is the Ybor City one better?

certainly a good advise, go to Columbia Restaurant in Ybor city, Tampa. The oldest spanish resto in the USA ,from 1905 ,same Hernandez family owns it. They have other branches n Clearwater Beach, St Augustine, etc. but in Tampa is the original. Flamenco shows too. Enjoy it.

As was said the Ybor City (Tampa) location is the original. I must say I do enjoy the view from the Columbia at the Pier in St. Petersburg.

Please check my pages as I have pictures. The Columbia in St. Petersburg -

Some picture on the Ybor City location -

For other options on places to eat please check my VT pages for Tampa, St. Petersburg.

Thanks! Another question since we're sort of on topic: How do you pronounce Ybor?
