Not specifically about Grenoble, but in case you weren't aware, Christmas dinner in France is eaten on Christmas Eve (réveillon de Noël), so restaurants will be serving special meals on the evening of 24/12: there is nothing special for Christmas Day although presumably hotel restaurants will be open.
Shops etc. will be closed on Christmas Day, as it's a public holiday.
There's an Irish pub, O'Callaghan, at 2 place de Bérulle in the centre that claims to be open 7/7 and might serve you an Irish Christmas dinner - but not lunch as it only seems to open in the afternoons (tel.: +33/0 4.76.01.05.66; email: ocallaghan@wanadoo.fr). And another called The Druid at 3, Rue Diodore Rahoult, tel. : +33/0 4.38.37.08.85. Also the London Pub at 11 Rue Brocherie (tel. 04.76.44.41.90) - pubs generally open on Christmas Day, I think.
