Honolulu plane from California to Honolulu
Posted: Mon November 3, 2008 06:23 PM UTC
I will spend some days in San Francisco and probably tour around one or two other cities of California but then I want to fly to Honolulu for a week.

From which city is better to take the plane? From San Francisco or other? Are there any cheap flights that I can check?

thanx in advance,
konstantinos

I just did a quick look on kayak.com and going to Honolulu the first week of Dec it was $100 pp less to fly out of LAX ( Los Angeles ) then the next lowest which was San Francisco.
It will depend on when you are going and if an airline has a sale to/from any destination.

I agree. Flying out of L.A. is usually cheaper than San Fran, however, if you keep your eye out, you might find a deal from San Fran instead. Right now the cost of gas is fairly cheap (compared to what it was a month ago) so driving to L.A. isn't that bad of an idea. However...it's a good drive from San Fran to L.A. Depends on if you want to drive it or not.

Yes, LAX might be cheaper but can be inconvenient. Flights are often delayed and check in is horrendous! Make sure to do on-line check in before going to the airport and bring your paperwork. It will save you a lot of time! You might want to also check Ontario Airport in California. Now, that's a fantastic airport! I flew to Honolulu from there and it was great! Good luck!

I dont drive so bus will take me to LA or any other city. I ask about flights from other cities so I dont have to return to San Francisco just for the flight to Honolulu.

The flight will probably be on late march. What other air companies would you suggest?

k.

Since ATA went bankruptcy, usually Hawaii Airlines has the most competitive fare between LAX and HNL.

Please check out both Hawaiian Airlines and Go Airlines..
And also there is always Delta or Continental..
San Francisco and Seattle have been stops for me.. Both are good locations..
