Post a picture if you can, mon cher.
Nobody wants to play tennis in Cairns (pronounced Cans) with someone when they don't know what they look like.

As you are only vingt I am sure you know how to post a pic.

I took me a few years to learn how to do it - and then my son had to help me.

Do let me know if you do not understand my English.

I never realised Cairns was pronounced cans. Thanks for that info.

because i am not from australia i am always mispronouncing

but i was put straight about Cairns (Cans) by the teacher in my kids one teacher primary school

he got really irritated with me and put me straight

Being a Kiwi Jen shouldn't have problems with the pronunciation. Just don't cut the vowels too short. ;O) "Carns" (slightly nasally) is probably the best orthographic representation.

On the original question, probably learn more English sitting around in a pub.

Don't really know. I don't remember seeing it being played years ago when I lived near there . More recently when I've visited I've never really looked. Anne would probably know.
