Ugly buildings

This weekend while looking through a book about Paris, I started thinking about how much I hate the Montparnasse Tower--I just think it's hideous even though the view from it is great. Then I started thinking about other really ugly buildings and monuments like the pyramid outside the Louvre (I know--a lot of people love it but I hate it).

What buildings around the world do you think are really ugly?

This should be fun!

I still vote for our Perth Convention Centre. Whoever designed it ortta have their head read!! Here's a write up in the local news of the opinion of the locals -

http://blogs.thewest.com.au/entertainment/mark-naglazas/mark-naglazas-time-to-cut-our-losses/

For those of you that don't want to read the whole thing - here are a few exerts -

"...I would have loved to have jumped into the conversation (about how wonderful the Sydney Opera House is) by mentioning a Perth structure that stirs the souls of the locals and attracts interstate and overseas visitors.

But clouding my mind was the monstrosity on the foreshore of the Swan, the behemoth that rudely turns its backside to the river and blinks out at a city that has all but disowned it."

"...I call it the Cockroach.

It is completely under-utilised and offers NO outdoor function areas (can you believe this?? when it’s on to the river?? and with our climate??)."

"....YES!! Get rid of it, the sooner the better. What an eyesore to sit in such a beautiful spot. It’s a total abomination and the architects, the government minister/s who agreed that this barn should be built and used as a convention centre should be given the sack - without notice." - I agree with that statement! :o)
