Bastogne Travel Forum

I will be going to Bastogne in November for 3 days. Are there any war walks, guides to where the 101st para/regiment had their positions in and around Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.
Can you reach these on foot as I will not be travelling in car. Are there any local buses or railways close by.

Make steps for MEMORIAL OF THE MARDASSON just outside Bastogne to the North East.

For the most part the battles were not fought in the town but in the area surrounding it. You would not want to get there on foot. We were there in June and saw a jeep offering tours beginning from the Tourist Info in McAuliff square. I don't know if it is available all year or where it would take you. But I would start there and see what they say. It was great to see the places the battles were fought and worth the effort to get there.
