Any Big Celebrations Between Dec 30, 2008 to January 30, 2009

Hi!

i would like to ask for help. would you know if there are any remarkable celebrations in New York within the period of December 30, 2008 to January 30, 2009.i am planning to go there within that period.

For starters New Years Eve on Dec.31st.

Lets just say Times Square is the biggest party in NYC on NYE
Although you could come to Sydney and experience New year before New York

New Year's Eve does sound good, but DO NOT be one of those silly tourists who stands, for 18 hours, all day long on Dec. 31, in Times Square, until the ball drops. You are literally penned up by wooden sawhorses all day and evening, with no food or bathroom. and alcohol is BAnned.
