Hello...we'll be in Ponta Delgada next year on Nov. 1. Not only is it a Sunday, it's also All Saint's Day.

Will anything be open...shops, markets, coffee shops, etc ?

November 1st is a Saturday but yes it is a public holiday (all Saints) so some places will be closed. It's difficult to be specific but bars etc do not close.

Sorry misread the question. Next year 2009 it is a Sunday so to all intents and purposes it is a normal Sunday as well as a holiday. Some bars etc close on Sundays as matter of course and so do some shops.
