Does anyone have experience of car hire in Cuba. I have tried the link on the VT page, but without any luck. It seems that most of the American agencies do not take bookings for Cuba.

Visited cuba in june but not Havana, the roads are very poor quality, badly sign posted. This is the only place i have visited where i felt it was safer to use taxis than drive myself. The roads have no drainage and the camber does not always direct the water off the road. We hired local taxis at approx 70 convertible pesos for 6 hours and had "Local Guide" for free.

However Car hire is available from most hotels.........Good Luck

try this one, i had used them,my family drove the car thus, very bad roads, hard to find gas stations, very expensive rental. This agency deals locally with local people its a govt franchise .shortness of everything and now even more after the hurricanes, so bring all essentials with you and more.

How much it costs to hire a car with a driver for a day tour? I will be in Havana second week of November, and i want to tour around the city - take some pictures.
