New York City Halloween.........
Posted: Mon October 13, 2008 12:10 AM UTC
Is Halloween a good time to visit NY?? How's the weather in October?? Will it be cold during the daytime?? Are the halloween parties fun? I would be coming from Los Angeles, first time in NY. I know hotel and flight prices are fairly cheap this time of year, (as far as new york goes). Thanks.

You got to check out the annual Halloween parade in Greenwich Village. I was there for it a couple of years ago and it was a great time. For more information, go to this website: www.halloween-nyc.com

As far as the weather, "brisk" would be the word. Between 40 and 50F usually but could get a little chillier. Also, be prepared for rain as well.

I totally agree about the weather. It gets rainy during that time of year...however, the last couple of years (here in New England) it's been quite warm. I would suggest you bring a coat and some mittens with you for Halloween. No one thinks any differently if you wear your coat outside at Halloween.

Weather tends to be anywhere from low 30s to mid 50s during the day, and dips down to low 20s to high 30s at night. If it's raining, it could be even chillier.

Halloween here in the Northeast is a blast, and NYC is no exception! Many bars and different clubs will have all kinds of parties going on, and depending where you are staying, ask them for the best places to go. Taxis will be a bit on the high side for the night however, so be prepared for that.

Have fun though! Depending on when you're leaving NYC, you could start to see them beginning to decorate for Thanksgiving/Christmas which is quite the treat!

Totally agree!! NYC and Halloween just kind of go together. If you do go to Grennwich- I'd suggest trying to get into Jekyll & Hydes- this is the original one and I'm biased against what I call the "tourist" one up near Times Square. the atmosphere is fun, the food is good and reasonably priced

Must see the parade in the village.
I've gone a few times and heading in to the city this year.

I'd take layers of clothes
one year it was 60 degrees maybe higher
