Gold Coast Help on Accomodation
Posted: Sat October 11, 2008 08:10 AM UTC
Hello :)

I am planning a trip to Gold Coast in March '09 staying for 3 nights. My budget for accomodation is max AUD100/nite.

I am looking for a quiet place, located within walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants and easy to get public transport. I am looking at either room with ensuite bathroom or 1-bedroom self-contained apartment.

I have shortlisted the following options :

1. Costa D-Ora Apartments, Surfers Paradise
2. The Shore Holiday Apartments, Surfers Paradise
3. Karana Palm Resorts. Chevron Island
4. Club Surfers, Surfers Paradise
5. The Shore, Surfers Paradise
6. Breakfree Rays, Southport
7. Browns at Broadbeach, Broadbeach

I would like some advice on which of the above are the best based on the requirements listed above.

Many thanks for your response.

Hi there... I'm not a huge fan of the Gold Coast, so I hope some locals give you better advice!

Quiet is certainly not to be found in Surfers Paradise...skip it.

I really enjoyed Broadbeach though - cool place with some nice restaurant/bars yet not so 'Surfers Paradise cheesey'. I can't give an opinion on Browns...only that Broadbeach was a nice little area.

Happy travels :)

I see you've put down The Shore twice. Had a look and I reckon this looks good. If the price is right, then I would go for this accommodation. Have a wonderful time on the Gold Coast! There's heaps to do and see!! 3 nights is probably too short....so you'll need to be selective in what you do and see :o)

If there is anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to ask.

Cheers, Ann :o)

Yeah, if you want it a bit more quiet I would look for somewhere a bit further south, for example Palm Beach or even Coolangatta. Perhaps the Royal Palm - they often have specials with cheaper rates. I'm sure you can negotiate.
