Saint Petersburg Travel Forum

I'll will be in St Petersburg at the end of this month with my 2 friends. We have 3 days in the city; so prefer to stay in the center. Beside location, safety is also important for us. However we couldn't decide which one is the best. Can someone help us? Comfort Hotel, Nevksy Hotel Grand or Herzen House Hotel ?

We stayed at the Herzen House last week and were very pleased with our choice. The location is excellent, very central, the rooms small but clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Good breakfasts, tea and coffee available all day, free internet for guests. Security is good - you can only get into the building with your key. It's not luxurious but it suited us very well and we'd certainly stay there again.
The Comfort Hotel is in the same building, on the second floor. Herzen House is on the 4th floor - there is a lift. They are owned by the same company. I believe the Comfort is cheaper but can't make a coment other than to say I know it was recently voted Trip Advisors top St Petersburg choice.
Hotels in Russia are extremely expensive, these two are mid-range and, for Russia, offer value for money.
The road outside the hotel was being resurfaced whilst we were there so taxis can't pull up in front of the hotel but there's a cross street just 2 buildings away, so unless you have loads of luggage, it's not a problem.
