Machu Picchu Shaman wedding ceremony?
Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 04:41 AM UTC
Hi,

My fiance and I want to get married at Machu Picchu. We will also do a civil ceremony in the US so we don't care about the legal side of it all. We just want something special. I have found 2 hotels which offer a wedding near Machu, but both are at least $2000 and include all kinds of extras we do not need. Do you think it is possible to find a shaman when there? Does anyone know of a way to set this up before we go? We are also open to a ceremony in Cusco or other ruins in the area. Will it be easy to arrange this once in Peru? We will only be in Cusco for 1 day and then Machu Picchu for 2 before we head to another area. Please let me know if you have any ideas!

Thanks!

Try asking your hotel for recommendations. Usually they would have good leads. Goodluck & enjoy beautiful Peru!

Hi, I am thinking about doing the same thing actually and was rather turned off by the idea of using a hotel package. I would think you could find a shaman in cusco if you were able to spend some time there. It would be fun to see how the universe allows that to happen. But, since you do not have such time, contacting the hotel might work. Also, read this post and maybe the author can provide some help:

can you let me know how it all goes? I am thinking about sometime next year and would love to hear how your experience went.

Thanks and buena suerte!

I am actually moving to Peru in January 09 to the Sacred Valley in Pisac. There are a lot of Shaman Posers their. I would go through your hotel. I know a shaman named Tito La Rosa. He is a sound healer. He has a website because he travels to the US often. You can find him trough these people http://www.ayniprojects.com

Also, I am a wedding photographer. Here is my website. www.robinparrott.com
If I am there when you decide to get married maybe we can speak more.
