Hi,
people of tunisia are very friendly .If you are looking for nice beaches , bars, night clubs try HAMMAMET , very touristic place, plenty of hotels, Nabeul: nothing special.Tunis big modern town, with an old part plenty of things to see.But I would suggest the island of DJERBA for young people, more fun , but very touristic too. Euros will be ok. Passport for Brittish citizen. No visa.

No interests listed in your profile, so it's hard to advise, if you were interested in historical sites there are plenty including Carthage and El Jem (Roman amphitheatre), I also liked Sidi Bou Saïd, Kairouan (/Quairouan) and Matmata (which you may know from Star Wars). Port El Kantaoui is a modern development near Sousse that may have better night life than the more traditional places. If you put Tunisia in the destination search box at the top of this page you will find VT members' top tips and travel pages.
As an EU citizen you don't need a visa for a tourist stay of less than 3 months so nothing to get at the airport or anywhere else.

If you like nightlife try Hammamet or Djerba. If you want a touch of desert, try Tozeur

What are you looking for?
Nightlife, culture, posh hotels, tourists (by the hundred) peace and quiet. I have a home page about our trips to Tunisia, you could take a look there, but we don't do tourism. If you are more specific about your requirements you'll get plenty of suggestions. Kevin

I suggest you Sousse then!! Sousse is a nice city with beach, some nightlife.. and in my opinion more interesting than Hammamet (but im not very objective here)
For taxi drivers i only know those from tunis... and i have to say that they are very honest (i mean they always choose the shortest way), with tourists too. But sometimes (which seems incredible) they just dont know the place! Another thing are the taxi drivers that you find at the airport (arrivals): they are thiefs!! But i think this is a general thing everywhere in the world... Greetings from Tunis, elisa
