places of interest around Zaventem area?

i read about the upcoming public transport strike.If I get stuck at Zaventem airport,and would have to queue for hours for a taxi, where can I go in the vicinity of Zaventem (within a few km walking) to pass the time instead of waiting at the airport for a day? are there any parks or places of interest nearby? thanks

Not all the unions are taking part in the strike on oct. 6th, so there will probably be some transportation available. However, what you could do is take the coach to Antwerp. This is about the only privately run public transportation in Belgium, so this should run.
