hello, i will be flying from mauritius into mahe. I'm wondering if I can purchase a Mahe-La Digue return flight somewhere online. This will be in early January.

You can't fly to La Digue, instead a short boat ride from Praslin to La Digue is required, lasting only 20 minutes or so.

Tickets from Mahe to Praslin can be bought from any online travel agenent, e.g. Opodo. No online booking on Air Seychelles website is available.

Hi Chiara!I'm not sure if there's any flight from Mahé directly to La Digue,maybe just private jets.I suggest,you fly to Praslin then take the ferry to La Digue. From Mahé,it's only 15mins flight to Praslin,then 30mins ferry to La Digue.Check out my Seychelles page for more infos and pictures.Hope you'll enjoy your stay there,such a paradise!

You`re so right ... the Seychelles are so beautiful !!

You can travel with the Cat-Cocos-SpeedFerry: it runs between Mahé and Praslin (with onward connections to La Digue). The trip lasts only 45 minutes.
Between Praslin and La Digue there is a ferry which crosses in 15-30 mins. Timetables here.

With Praslin Express: this smaller but cheaper ferry offers one or two connections per day, one of them onwards to La Digue. Timetables here.

By plane or helicopter: Mahé - Praslin costs 90 € o/w by plane and although the hop with a Twin Otter or Short360 lasts only about 15 mins., you may end up spending hours at the airport, if you are unlucky. Most of the time, they are roughly on time, though. A chopper ride costs 190 € (as from Nov 2008: 225 €) o/w between Mahé and La Digue.

With the freight boat (15 €). It runs Monday thru Friday once daily on the route Mahé - Praslin - La Digue in 3-4 hours (leaving Mahé around noon, and La Digue about 5 a.m.). Not recommended when the sea is rough and no prebookings possible.

thank you Juergen, but I am not into couch surfing, I work hard all year and when I take my vacations I want my bed, even if it is a cheap place. I know Seychellles isnt' cheap but I look more for a room, I am not into "spiritual" things, let's say this- But thank you in advance, i hope I'll find something else :-)
