We will be London late December this year and are planning to visit Jersey an island off france. What is the best way to travel there ? 2 Adults and 2 kids, 14yr and 11yrs. Is Jersey a great experience, we only have 2-3 nights.
We already have accommodation organised with family. thanks

Not sure if you can get there directly from the UK. Personally I think you'd take the Eurotunnel to Calais, then drive down to St. Malo and take a boat to Jersey.
Jersey is a small island, I think your 2-3 nights are long enough.

Flybe.com has direct flights from Gatwick, this will be the easiest way of getting to the Channel Islands.

Jersey is very small, but very pretty. Hiring a car (assuming your family does not actually live there) will be worthwhile.

http://jersey.com/English/transport/Pages/default.aspx

will give you details of transport options (and lots of info about the isalnd itself on other pages).

You can fly from a number of airports, or take the ferry (which might be worth doing if you have your own/a hire car in the UK) from Weymouth
or Poole.

Ferry info here:

www.flybmi.com and www.britishairways.com also fly to Jersey. Look at www.skyscanner.net for fares for your dates.

Jersey has several direct links to the UK via planes and boats (I would also like to point out that we have 24 electricity, mains roads etc just to clear that up). There is a boat to St malo from Jersey but you would have to be nuts to come this way. Its a 45 minute flight from Gatwick with flybe, bmi, bmibaby and BA. You can also fly from other airports within the uk!
