Shopping question

We will be arriving in Beijing on the 8th Oct for several days with an organized tour and are staying at the Beijing Tangshan Hotel in the Chaoyang Zone. We would like to make the most of any shopping nearby to buy clothes(rather than take with us) do fellow travellers have suggestions as to what might be close by and with the little spare time allowed to us(with the tour) what might be available in the early evenings.

Depends on what you want..I would suggest walking up and down Wangfujing Street (its a big street!!)..there are lots of big department stores.

I bought a coat that contained down in it and was wind proof but for me it was expensive US$80.

If you go to TimeOut magazine you will find lots of info about shopping (and everyhting else) in this area- including ladies street!

You are away out of the central CBD but there will be plenty to buy, see and do....have a good time

it is walking distance to Singhong Plaza,Dawanglu.
10 minutes by taxi to Silk Market

I live not far from the hotel. as it's not in the CBD area, there are no big shop store around a walking distance from Tangshan Hotel. But there are some small supermarkets.
