Daytona Beach Daytona Beach Florida in January?
Posted: Fri September 19, 2008 08:19 PM UTC
We own a timeshare and have the opportunity to trade into the Americano Beach Resort for any 2 weeks in January or Feb 14-18, 20009. We have never been to Florida before, are golfers and would also like to do some sight seeing. Is this a good time to visit or is the weather too unpredictable? Appreciate any feedback you can offer. ThanksA!

There may be cool weather in January, but the weather is basically good during the winter months. Obviously warmer than more northerly latitudes. Not sure what you mean by unpredictable. Golf should be no problem. Winter is basically the dry season for Florida.

Lucky you - you will have a great time and the weather will be absolutely OK. January is a different ball-game down here and the golfing will be amazing, healthy and fun.

By the way if you're sightseeing there's a neat place - the Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts you should check out. It has buildings from the early 20th century and show what life was like for the early settlers. A great day out.

Have a great trip!

i went to university studies and stay total of 11 years there. the Americano Beach Resort is great, you will have good time and great location ont he beach. the january weather as any weather is not easy to tell, some years it got very cold like 25F others it was sunny, so check the weather reports. Golf is great ,oceanside country club is one of the top, and there is Indigo lakes resort too.
it is a great base city to see all the major attractions of florida from St Augustine in the north to Cape Canaveral space area in the south to going out west to Orlando and on to Tampa (about 2,45 hours by car).
it is a great area, too bad the jobs made me go away.
