Can anyone recommend the Super Shuttle from the airport? Do they provide prompt service?

Generally, we have been happy with Super Shuttle. We have used Super Shuttle several times to/from SFO without problems, they were prompt (even early) when we were heading back to the airport. On one very early morning pick-up, our driver needed a bath and was dressed like a Goth. He didn't touch our luggage, we had to load it up. However, we just didn't tip him.

The problem with Super Shuttle is that, when you catch it from the airport, they aren't always careful about who they group you with. I used to take it, until one day when my normal 20 minute commute turned into 1 1/2 hours because they drove all over San Francisco before taking me home, even though I was the closest to the airport and, had they been logical, should have been dropped off first. If you have more than one person, it's almost as cheap to take a cab. I never use Super Shuttle any more.

I agree with acprincess. Sometimes you'll have to wait a long time while they're dropping other people off. There are alternatives depending on where you are going. There is BART which will go into SF which is pretty quick and less expensive.
