Lagos new year in lagos

i was thinking of going to lagos for hogmanay this year. my girlfirends parents have an apartment there and i loved it during the summer. are places like south west bar at the marina and bars in the old town open and busy at this time of year especially Dec 31st? appreciate anyone who answers. cheers

you don't have the bar scene in lagos during christmas/new year that you have in the summer as there are very few non portugese people around during that time.

somne of the bars will be busy with portugese visitors though.

Well I was in lagos last year in that time of the year. Most things are open but movement is low, city is quite quiet in that time of the year. In the new years day some bars will probably have closed door parties where you can try to enter and there will probably be fireworks and some movement. However the places where the party is more intense is Portimão (they normally do a huge firework, have concerts and there are many bars open) or Albufeira where basically the same thing happens. Portimão is not that far from Lagos (30 Kms) and Albufeira is 60 Kms away. When you get there go to a tourist office and check the programs and then choose what you want.
