Hi everyone,

My husband, mother and I will be in Strasbourg for 5 days over Christmas.

Can someone please recommend an ambiant restaurant for lunch on Christmas Day? Anything Alsation or French would be great. We're looking at say up to 100 euros per person.

I remember the names of many fantastic restaurants outside Strasbourg but not too many in the city... BUT: Have a look at Maison Kammerzell. It is located on Cathedral Square in an absolutely stunning building, and has wonderful food, fine French and rustic Alsatian.

I have heard and read that we may not have snow in Strasbourg but have a better chance Colmar and beyond.

Can you recommend any restaurants that would be easily reachable by public tranport with the same criteria but where it is more likely to be snowing/have snow there?

I would not include Colmar in the snow forecast - only the "beyond". And with beyond I mean the mountains, the Vosges. You would need to get up to the Col de la Schlucht, or Le Bonhomme, or such places. But you will not get public transportation. And if it snows a lot the pass roads can be closed. In this case you would need to access the western side of the mountains from the north or the south.

As you never know when or even: if it snows I would rather go for romantic than for snow.
