| Newark | Luggage storage? Posted: Tue September 16, 2008 09:15 AM UTC
Hi!
I thought somebody might have an idea for us here... Here's our problem: We are going to the Caribbean in November via Newark and on the way back from there we are going to spend a few days in NYC. Which means we need summer clothes for the British Virgin Islands but we also need a winter coat for the days in New York. I am not too excited about the idea of taking my winter coat with me all the time because I am sure it won't fit into my bag and I am sure I will be stared at if I wear it on the way from the airport to the hotel in the USVI and especially on the ferry to the BVI. Is there any luggage storage facility in Newark airport where I could leave the winter stuff for 10 days? Any other ideas? Thanks for your help. Sabine |

There is a 24 hour luggage store. If you read through some of the other Newark posts there is one specifically on this topic - along with the location and contact number.
Have a great trip. Kim

The other posts are only about leaving the luggage for up to 24 hours. However, we are looking for a solution to store our stuff for approx. 10 days. Thanks, anyway.

how about leaving your winter clothing at home and having a family member or friend post your bag to your hotel using UPS or FedEx? I have done this before and it was very convenient, bags were sent to the hotel and I didn't have to worry about carrying excess baggage on the firt part of my trip...have a great holiday!

Thanks Joey,
a great idea. However, I think I would be too scared that the mail will never arrive and I will freeze to death in NYC ;) I'd rather sweat to death in the Caribbean ;) Plus it will probably be quite expensive to ship the stuff from Germany. Sabine

I understand what you say, but you should still look into it, the cost is probably less than you think! Either way, I hpe your holiday is a great one!

You might not need a winter coat in NYC in November. You just never know. I'd wait and see, and buy a great big heavy sweater if the weather turned out to be cold. Unless you're planning on standing around on a street corner for several hours, you probably won't need a heavy coat in any event.

I found a place for you! It is called NBS Storage and Delivery. I just rang them and verified their prices and arrangement. They have a stand next to Carousel 1 in Terminal C at Newark. They charge $10 the first day and $5 each additional day plus $10 for the first bag and $5 for each additional bag so if you have 2 bags for 10 days, the charge would be $105. They give you a ticket when you leave the bags with them then you ring them when you want to pick the bags up or make arrangements when you drop off for a pick up time at Terminal C. They don't have a website but their telephone number is: 1-908-933-0503. They are your only option at the airport as far as I could find.
