You could take local buses to get to you resort, but remember that it will probably be windowless, the journey may well be dusty, and will take a lot longer than airport transfers.

I would advise aranging transfers before you go. This also has the advantage that you will be met, and you will be picked up at an appropiate time for your return flight.

Just my 5 cents worth.

I agree with Steve. The resorts have their own shuttles and they don't cost much. It's not exactly a short drive, and having aircon and dustfree is much more comfortable, as well as being faster, as they don't make as many stops as the local buses.

Hi
When you arrive in Nadi, at the airport you will be able to findout about a Bus company called Coral Sun, they are excellent and professional, they will pick you up from you hotel and deliver you to you next destination, the bus is airconditioned and comfortable. They do do have a website, may be able to pre book.

The cost is reasonable, if you try to catch a local bus you will have a lot of trouble, one being that you will have to find somewhere to put your luggage and it will take forever to get to where you are going, my advice is that please dont miss out on using the local buses during your days of doing the tourist thing, you may want to go to Sigatoka on the bus, they are fun and part of the culture of Fiji, just not a good idea for transfers.

Alot of Resorts do have transfers, at this distance they may do it themselves or use a inbound tour company and you will find that they cost is quite high compared to using the Coral sun bus company and the comfort level etc is the same, hope this helps, feel free to ask me for any other advice have been to Fiji 7 times.
