Luxembourg Travel Forum

hi everyone!
This friday (sept 19th) I'm making my first trip to Luxembourg! We are visiting Esch Sur Alzette. I am in Hamburg the day before and want to travel by train from there to Esch Sur Alzette (from there on sunday we travel home back to the uk). The fares that come up however are 111 euros! I was wondering if there were any ways to get this a bit cheaper, or is that the cheapest I will find? This is the normal fare, so should I just buy that ticket on the morning at the Hamburg station? I realise it is quite a long journey, but if anyone has any advice, that would be great, thank you!

The cheap tickets will be booked by now,as they are for sale from 89 days prior to travelling. If you buy your ticket at the train station the day you travel, you pay the highest fare.
You could try if there is still a 29 Euro ticket available for Hamburg - Saarbruecken and from there buy a Saar-Lor-Lux ticket. This is 20 Euro for the first person and 10 for the next four people, valid on local trains only.
