Re: Advise: Should I go to Punta Cana in October? Posted: Tue September 30, 2008 03:48 AM UTC
The hurricane season in Dominican republic as all the caribbean as well is from June to November, this mean in October there could be a hurricane passing by...but as I ive in Punta Cana for the past 5 years I can tell you that all we have been experienced is a LOT of rain...someimes one full day raining or maybe couple days...recently my girlfriend came from canada to visit me for a week and i had planned to go to santo Domingo for a couple days...since there was a tropical depresion not even a hurricane the road to Santo Domingo was blocked due to river flooding over the road to La Romana...we stayed in Punta Cana and went nowhere...but in Punta Cana was safe..lots of rain but no danger...positive thing coming in October is that the hotel-flight rates are cheaper than from november on as we will start our high season which would have hotels packed with people and getting a seat would be more complicated than now.
HOpe this can help you...i want to be honest with you guys.
