We are travelling from Helsinki to Tallinn on 31 December. Which route is safest and least likely to be cancelled/affected by adverse weather conditions - ferry, plane or helicopter?

Take any of the big ferries operated by Tallink, Viking Line or Eckerö Line. Tallink's Star and Superstar are the fastest (2h), Viking Xprs takes 2,5 h and is the cheapest, Tallink Cruise ships take 3,5 h. All the ferries mentioned above run regardless the weather, so take whichever suits you the most.

Take the biggest ferrylines you can, that is the Vikingline and Silja/Tallink. Takes approx 2-3 hours and is the easiest and most accessible way to get there.
