Can anyone give an approximate cost by taxi from airport to downtown Xian? What about limo costs? Thank you.

When I visited, the black taxis at the airport wanted to charge ~150 RMB.
If you walked out of the airport a few hundred meters, the standard taxi would charge ~100 RMB.

Why do you not want to take the bus to from the airport to the city center & Drum Tower? Bus is 25 RMB. This is what I did and found it very easy. Tickets are easily purchased at the airport upon arrival.

Roughly 100-120 RMB depending on traffic conditions.

Agree with previous.. catch the airport bus..much easier and cheaper.

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (IATA: XIY) is located 40 km northwest of the city centre, in Xianyang.
The rate for the normal (green) taxis is ¥6 for the first two kilometers and then ¥1.5 for every additional kilometer. Waiting times longer than 2 minutes will be charged ¥1.5 per minute. After 11PM the starting price is ¥7. At the airport and around some of the big hotels you might also find black taxis. They charge ¥2.4 per kilometer.
