I need to travel from Vienna to Warsaw to catch a flight. Which is most economical and best mode of transportation? How many hours does train ride take? thank you |

There is a limited amount of tickets (couchette from €39, but no onlinebooking) Vienna to Warsaw: http://www.oebb.at/pv/en/Travel_within_Europe/Spar
as well as City Star Ticket (you find it on the same website). 1 nighttrain, 2 daytrains, about 9 hour.

Best other than a cheap flight from either Vienna or nearby Bratislava would be by train from Wien Südbahnhof takes about 8 hours, not a bad bet if you do it overnight. Dunno about cost, I would guess €100 or so.
The most economical would normally be by Eurolines coach, but it takes 13 1/2 hrs (also possible overnight), see http://www.eurolines.at/index_en.php.
