Does anyone know how I would contact an official in Rome Italy with regard to complaning about a rental campervan company. The Campervan we rented broke down after 3hrs, we didnt get a refund then a month latter he charged my credit card 1200.00US$ for? WE are trying to get it back via the credit card company but Van Italy were also not licensed to rent vans therfore illegally rented to us.
Is there police I could contact in Rome,Italy? or a government department that looks after tourists being ripped off by bad operators? |

It sounds like the kind of frauds that are dealt with by the Guardia di Finanza corps. They have at least three operative headquarters in Rome. I suggest to write to the following address:
Guardia di Finanza Gruppo Roma, Nucleo I Via Nomentana 591 00162 Roma If your write your letter in English, put as a heading on the top of the page the following sentence: DENUNCIA DI TRUFFA A DANNO DI TURISTI STRANIERI so your letter will go to the proper department. Unfortunately I have not found any fax number in the GDF official website. If you want to phone, the number is +39 06 87 021.

Be sure to put a warning tip about this company on your travel pages. These unscrupulous organisations cannot be stopped unless plenty of people know about them and know not to use them. Of course it helps if the news gets passed on to as many other prospective travellers as possible. Plaster their name as far and wide as you can.
