Re: Best B-Day Party you ever went to Posted: Tue August 26, 2008 03:43 AM UTC
I haven't been to it yet. My "dream" would be a day on the the "track" where I get to drive 5 of the top exotics "at speed." This would be followed by a "surprise party" of my friends at a local place "on the way home."
but for one I've been to...it was a party at St. George Distillery in Alameda for a friend of mine. About 100 of his friends made the event one to remember. Just like turning 50.

One word: punch.
Fruity, best to soak the fruits in the spirits (vodka, rum, etc.) overnight and then add the juices and champagne the next day, just before drinking it.

Hiiii almost b-day girl!!!
My best party was at a beach club. a friend arranged it all, it was a surprise for me and loved it, sun, sea, palmtrees and because i like Salsa,Merengue music. kinda Tropical Caribbean Party. had loads fun! everyone in their beach-outfits, Limbo dancing contest was fun and the tropcal coctails: yummmi!!!! It was great!! :)
You can also do this at home!! some tropical plants, tropical drinks and cocktails (lot of rum! haha), tell everyone to bring their beach-clothes, (turn op the heat in the beginning haha but after a cocktail & dance or 2 heater can off hehe) food; shrimps, rice, bbq, salads, fruits, pineapple boats and so on... and ofcourse for the La Entrada Grande: Music!! and the dance teacher! he or she can learn the guests some caribean dances...they will never forget! And ofcourze the Limbo dance! also you can set op a karaokee thing-and they can sing along and with little music instruments like sambaballs & stuff ( dont know the english words haha)
WISH U GREAT FUN!!!!! tell me how your party was and what you did!

Hey, limbo and cocktails definitely sounds like you had fun :-)
We also did a similar party once, and it was great.
Basically, birthday girl, theme parties are fantastic if you can get everyone to join in.
Some theme parties I've organized / been to:
James Bond and Bond Girls (the guys loved this)
Coyote Ugly / Cowboy or Cowgirl theme
80s party (the decade that good taste forgot!)
Movie Stars / Celebrities
Theme from a certain movie (i.e. Mr & Mrs Smith, TopGun, Indiana Jones, etc.)
If you can organize a projector it's great fun to project a movie or music videos on the wall.

Maybe my best birthday party was one with four or six girls at my home. I think I prepared some appetizers and a cake. The good company with lots of laughs were the reason for this successful party.

Went to a 40th not long ago. It was at a Japanese Tepenyaki resturant. Where they cook the food in front of you, throw it at you & you catch it in your mouth. Heaps of fun. Specially after a few rounds of beer.

Definitely my 50th birthday party. It was a Northern and Modern Soul night with my favourite DJ's. What a great night, dancing to my favourite records.

I told my friend to help me plan a 007 party..... that was great!
someone else mentioned a "white trash" party because then people are not so worried about finding what to wear, anything you toss together could work and then you'll guarantee better attendance...
do you get turned away from parties that have a theme because you might not want to have to find the outfit to wear?
I love to dress up...!
but I wondered about that

I am actually doing a "Black & White" Party
my gay friend stole the "white trash" party idea this last weekend :) It was funny, people didn't really have to think an outfit too much
