September is very good time to visit Turkey. You give me some hint about what s holiday in your mind? and I will help you about to details.
If you want sea-sand-sun I will give you different directions.

Neodue is absolutely right! You can visit Turkey for the 50th time and always be sure that you explore something new.

For the first time I'd recommend Istambul, Cappadocia, Pammukale and Aegian See region - 15 days will be enough.

September is great time to visit Turkey as it is not so hot there. However, it's Ramadan all the month, so it will be more difficult to enjoy real atmosphere of common life. Therefore, I am planning my visit to some othe Islamic country in the first half of October.

Regards,

Piotr

It depends on want you want to do. If you want to go to the beach, visit the southern coase along the Mediterranean. Fethiye, Kas, and Side are three popular resort towns. Side also has Roman ruins, while the coastal mountains around Fethiye and Kas are beautiful.

If you like cities, you can easily spend a week in Istanbul, which has a ton of stuff to see and do. The Aegean coast gives a good blend of the two. You can stay at the beach in Kusadasi and then drive 20 km inland and get a great does of sightseeing in Efes (Ephesus) and Selcuk. The ruins of Priene and Miletus are also nearby.

We would also highly recommend visiting the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. It has unusual rock formations, underground towns, and lots of interesting old cave churches.

If possible, rent a car for the section of your holiday outside of Istanbul. Driving through the countryside was fascinating.
